Celebrating the Holiday Season at Inver Glen

January 23rd, 2020

The most wonderful time of the year! Last month was all about celebrating the holiday season here at Inver Glen Senior Living. Check out all the fun!

Inver Glen’s 10th annual Holiday Open House last month was a rousing success! Families, tenants, and preschoolers enjoyed wonderful food, music, and socializing. There were smiles and holiday cheer everywhere! 🎉🎄🎊

Inver Glen tenants were treated to a variety of local caroling groups throughout the Holiday season. They also worked on holiday crafts during a weekly “hobby workshop” held right in our community room.

Tenants from our Willow Cove units were treated to a special night tour of the local holiday lights and decorations.

The weekly “hobby workshop” at Inver Glen was a busy group last month. Check out these delightful snowmen, all crafted with love (and socks)! ⛄️❤️

“Inver Gals,” which is Inver Glen Senior Living’s very own women’s choir and rhythm band, provided entertainment on Christmas Eve. Both sacred and secular music shared with our large audience.

Inver Glen’s hallways were filled with the wonderful smell of baking cookies on “Exchange Day.” There were lots of great recipes and ideas going around as the cooks shared secrets with each other. 🍪

Inver Glen tenants enjoyed a fun and festive New Years party to welcome in 2020!

Soup, Sandwich, and Support

December 20th, 2019

Last month, Inver Glen began hosting a three-part series dedicated to education and support of those caring for someone suffering from memory loss. It’s titled “Soup, Sandwich, and Support,” and these are photos from the recent December 6 event: “Care Scenarios.”

Inver Glen’s Residence Director, Julie Kelly, and Activity Director, Sue Hastings, designed the program for both family members and professional caregivers. If you’re experiencing the challenges of memory loss, we’d love to provide support! The last part of the series will be Friday, January 10 from noon – 1 p.m. Learn more: https://bit.ly/35hsv2G

On Monday evening, September 30, 2019, Inver Glen celebrated its 10th anniversary!

We had an outside street dance with live music from the Inver Hills Community Band. We had free food and beverages. Many former employees who helped open our building in 2009 also attended. Tenants, staff, and their families enjoyed a very warm day in late September!
